• 5 July 2005 - The long awaited
IOR5E
Input-Output-Relay board with enclosure has arrived. It can be combined with various Modtronix SBC
boards depending on the PIC cpu and interface required.
• 1 July 2005 - Added new
SBC68EC
Ethernet boards to site. It is the same as the current SBC65EC board, but is assembled with the
PIC18F6680 PIC chip with onboard CAN.
• 20 May 2005 - Released new version of the Modtronix Web Server for the
SBC44EC,
SBC45EC and
SBC65EC
with an updated Modtronix TCP/IP stack.
• 28 April 2005 - Introduced

of SBC boards pre programmed with bootloaders.
• 26 April 2005 - The

Seven Segment Display daughter board has been added to the site.

• 31 Jan 2005 - The first of our Development Kits, the
DEVKIT44B
has been added to our site. It includes the free Hi-Tech PICCLite compiler and is programmed with
a bootloader.
• 19 Jan 2005 - The new
SBC65EC
Ethernet boards have arrived. It has more than twice the Flash, SRAM and EEPROM space of the
current SBC44EC and SBC45EC boards, and a great new
Web interface!
• 29 December 2004 - Revision 2
SBC44EC and
SBC45EC
boards have arrived and are in stock. All LEDs have been brought to the front of the boards, they use
RJ45 connectors with built in LEDs and other improvements have been made.

LCD Daughter board to site. Development kit consisting of DEV16T LCD board, SBC44B board with bootloader
and demo software will soon follow.
• 8 November 2004 - The popular
SBC44B
SBC is back in stock again. They are for 44 pin PIC chips and have a RS232 onboard interface. Additionally
it has sockets for a RTC, EEPROM, CAN BUS, RS485...
• 5 October 2004 - SK Pang Electronics has added a
live demo
using the SBC45EC and the Dallas DS18S20 1-wire temperature sensor to their site. Please keep in
mind that this server is only capable of a small number of users at any time!
• 8 September 2004 - First prototypes of new OEM modules are being tested:

HC64E CPU board with Ethernet and socket for PoE board. Uses the 64 pin PIC18F6621
which offers much more RAM and FLASH than that of PIC chips used in the SBC45EC. It also has
sockets for EEPROM and RTC chips. |

All boards fit into a plastic or aluminum housing. Housings have optional DIN rail mounting clips

RS485 Frontend expansion boards have arrived. When connected to compatible MicroX SBC Main boards,
they will add a RS485 bus to it.

SBC boards have arrived. They are for 28 pin PIC chips and have onboard RS232 or RS485 interfaces and a CAN BUS.
• 17 June 2004 - The new
SBC44B
SBC board has arrived. They are for 44 pin PIC chips and have a RS232 onboard interface. Additionally
it has sockets for a RTC, EEPROM, CAN BUS, RS485...

SBC44EC boards are in stock again!
• 28 May 2004 - The new
SBC18DC
SBC board with Sub-D connector has arrived. They are for 18 pin PIC chips and have a RS232 onboard interface.
• 11 May 2004 - A new SBC board, the SBC44B has gone into production, and will
be available end of May. It has a 44 pin PLCC PIC socket, RS232 port via Sub-D connector, RS485
or CAN BUS via a 5 pin Phoenix connector and a Socketed DS1307 RTC, 24LCxxx EEPROM and 8 pin PIC on
the I2C bus.
• 8 May 2004 - The new
SBC45EC
Ethernet CPU boards have arrived. They are basically the same as the SBC44EC boards but with an
improved web page and some other small differences - see
product page
for details..
• 16 April 2004 - The

Buffered Input/Output board and the
IOR44-222,
IOR44-42 and
IOR44-241
Input/Output/Relay boards with example code has been added.
• 25 March 2004 - Three new SBC boards have gone into production. The SBC18DC
is a compact SBC for 18 pin PICs with a Sub-D 9 pin connector - like the
SBC18C-IR4
but with RS232 and a Sub-D connector. The SBC28PC is a compact SBC for 28
pin PICs with a 5 pin terminal block connector (Phoenix connector) and onboard RS485 or CAN - like the
SBC28C-IR4
but with a 5 pin Phoenix connector.
• 18 March 2004 - We have slashed the prices of our PIC chips -
see for yourself!
• 18 March 2004 - The new IO8S
and SER2S boards have arrived. The
SBC44EC is also in stock again!
• 15 March 2004 - Two new Frontend boards have gone into production,
and will be available beginning of April. The BUS2S board will add CAN or RS485 to any
compact SBC board. The IOR44 will add Analog inputs, Relay outputs and 1A
Digital outputs to compact SBC boards.
• 15 March 2004 - The IO88T has gone into production, and will
be available beginning April. It is a Compact Daughter board that will add 8 Analog/Digital
inputs or 8 buffered Digital outputs to a Compact MicroX SBC board (the SBC18C for example).
• 17 February 2004 - Updated documentation for SBC18C, SBC28C and
SBC44A - Dimensions and Pin outs for Daughter and Frontend connectors were added.
• 17 February 2004 - Next revision SBC18C-IR4
boards have arrived. Now assembled with Industrial Temperature components, and
extra long life capacitors - for the same price as before!!
Ports RA5 (MCLR or IO), RA6 and RA7(Crystal or IO)
can now also be configured for IO mode, and are routed to the Frontend and Daughter expansion connectors.
• 30 January 2004 - First batch of SBC44EC
Ethernet boards have arrived. Will be available for online purchase with data sheet,
TCP/IP stack and PIC18F452 first week of February - for ONLY $49!
• 27 January 2004 - Downloads area added to site. Currently contains
PCB templates in Eagle format for creating Daughter and Frontend expansion
boards. Software will soon be added!
• 24 November 2003 - The
SBC44EC, a
compact single board computer with Ethernet, RS232 serial port and free TCP/IP
software stack, has gone into production. First boards expected in January!
• 27 October 2003 - Development started on a low cost, multi
platform(Windows, Linux, Solaris..) in circuit programmer for MicroX boards, with GUI.
Expected in February.
• 15 October 2003 - Completed prototype of
SBC44EC, and
got TCP/IP and web server software running.
• 5 October 2003 - Development started on 2 new MicroX I/O expansion
boards. They will provide digital inputs and outputs, analog inputs and relay outputs.
